Message from Jenks Elementary PTA

YEARBOOKS ARE HERE! Please read this in its entirety, so that delivery process goes a smoothy as possible.

First, thank you for all your patience as we navigate this crazy time and try to make a plan to distribute yearbooks.

This email for parents that PRE-ORDERED a yearbook between July and March through the Balfour website.

IN ORDER TO PICK UP YOUR YEARBOOK, YOU MUST PROVIDE…

1. YOUR PRINTED RECEIPT(S) WITH YOUR CHILD(REN)’S FIRST/LAST NAME CLEARLY WRITTEN ON IT.
2. A PIECE OF PAPER ON YOUR DASH WITH YOUR CHILD(REN)’S FIRST/LAST NAME CLEARLY WRITTEN ON IT.

There are two ways to find the receipt for your order: Search for “Balfour” in your e-mail’s inbox, or Log into Balfour.com – go to orders.

Again, you must have the receipt printed in order to receive your yearbook. Please print your child(ren)’s first and last name on the receipt. We will use the order number to cross-reference the name if needed.

In order to maintain appropriate social distancing, the distribution will be a drive-through process. When you arrive, DO NOT get out of your car and to protect our volunteers, we request the driver wear a MASK. Watch for our volunteer’s directions, pull up, and roll down your window. From there, we will ask for your receipt. A runner will bring the yearbook to your car and we will ask for your signature as proof of receipt. Bring your own pen or pencil please.

Yearbook pickup will be on Monday, July 13 at Jenks Elementary. Follow the normal car rider pickup line. Rainy day backup plan will be through the bus loop area. Distribution for July 13 will be based on student last names.

9:00-10:00 Student’s last name A-H

10:00-11:00 Student’s last name I-Q

11:00-12:00 Student’s last name R-Z

Questions and Answers:

I have moved out of state! How can I get my yearbook? Please email mjeyearbook@gmail.com after the July 13distribution and we can discuss options.

Can I pick up my friend/family/etc child’s yearbook? No. We are only allowing parents to pick their own child(ren)’s yearbook.

I’m out of town that day/I have to work during the day! What can I do? Please email mjeyearbook@gmail.com after the July 13distribution and we can discuss options.

I didn’t buy a yearbook. Will there be extra left for me to buy? Possibly. We usually receive a few printer “overages” that we use to replace books that were damaged through shipping or have minor errors from the printing process (ex: upside down page). We never know exactly how many overages we will receive. After the distribution is complete and we have verified all yearbooks are satisfactory, we will start contacting our waitlist. If you would like to be added to the waitlist please email mjeyearbook@gmail.com with the following information: Parent name, student name, parent phone number, parent email. We do not guarantee a yearbook to families on the waitlist. Yearbooks will be sold for $45. There is NOT a sales date for extra yearbooks yet. We expect it will be in August.

**Please remember that the yearbook is created and distributed by parent volunteers and any mistakes are unintentional. We would also like to thank our volunteers that offered to help with the distribution of yearbooks during this challenging time (and during the heat of July).

Este correo Electrónico es para los padres que PRE-ORDENAN un anuario entre Julio y Marzo a través de la pagina web Balfour.

PARA RECOGER SU ANUARIO DEBE PROPORCIONAR:
1.- Su (s) Recibo (s) impreso (s) con el nombre de su hijo (s) escrito claramente.
2.- Coloque en el tablero de su auto el nombre de su hijo (s).

Existen dos formas de encontrar el recibo (s) de su pedido: Busque “Balfour” en la bandeja de entrada de su correo electrónico o inicie sesión en Balfour.com vaya a Pedidos.

Recuerde que debe tener el recibo impreso, para poder recibir su anuario. Por favor escriba el nombre y apellido de su hijo(s) en el recibo pues utilizaremos el numero de pedido para hacer referencia al nombre si es necesario.

Con el fin de mantener un distanciamiento social adecuado, la distribución será a traves del automóvil. Solicitamos que el conductor use cubre boca (mascarilla ), Cuando llegue NO Salga de su coche solo baje su ventana y espere las instrucciones de nuestros voluntarios.
Primero le pediremos su recibo, un corredor voluntario traerá el anuario a su auto. Luego le pediremos su firma como prueba de recibido. Traiga sus propio bolígrafo Por Favor.

La recolección de anuarios será el Lunes 13 de Julio en la escuela primaria “JENKS”. Conduzca su automóvil por la linea de atrás de la escuela en caso de día lluvioso la entrega será a través del área de los autobuses ubicada en el área del estacionamiento del personal.

La distribución se basara en los apellidos de los estudiantes.

9:00 – 10:00 Alumnos con Apellido A-H

10:00 – 11:00 Alumnos con Apellido I-Q

11:00 – 12:00 Alumnos con Apellido R-Z

PREGUNTAS Y RESPUESTAS:

– Me he mudado fuera del Estado! Como puedo obtener mi anuario? Envie un correo electrónico a mjeyearbook@gmail.com Después del 13 de Julio y podemos discutir sus opciones.

– Puedo recoger el anuario del hijo de mi amigo/familia/ vecino/ etc.? NO. Solo estamos permitiendo que los padres obtengan el anuario de su propio hijo.

– Estoy Fuera de la ciudad ese día/tengo que trabajar durante el día! Que puedo hacer? Envie un correo electrónico a mjeyearbook@gmail.com después del 13 de Julio y podemos discutir sus opciones.

– No compre un anuario! Habra uno extra que pueda comprar? Posiblemente. Por lo general recibimos algunos extras que utilizaremos para reemplazar los anuarios que se dañaron durante el envío o tiene errores mínimos en el proceso de impresión ( por ejemplo: pagina al revés ) Nunca sabemos cuantos extras exactamente recibiremos pero una vez completada la distribución y hayamos verificado que todos los anuarios son satisfactorios nos pondremos en contacto con nuestra lista de espera.
-Si desea ser agregado a la lista de espera, envié un correo electrónico a mjeyearbook@gmail.com con la siguiente información:
-Nombre de los padres
-Nombre del estudiante
-Numero de teléfono de los padres

No garantizamos un anuario a las familias en la lista de espera. El costo de los anuarios es de $45 dls. No tenemos aun una fecha exacta para venta de anuarios adicionales. Esperamos que sera en Agosto.

** Por favor recuerde que el anuario es creado y distribuido por los padres voluntarios y cualquier error no es intencional. Nos gustaría agradecer a nuestros voluntarios que ofrecen su ayuda para la distribución de anuarios durante este tiempo difícil (y ademas durante el calor de Julio).

Jenks PTA Online Meeting Notice May 2020


Meeting Notice to Members/ Parents

Jenks PTA will be holding our General Membership meeting on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 6:30 pm . Due to current social distancing, our meeting platform will be on Zoom, and our ballot voting will be on Google Forms. All members must register here https://forms.gle/Vntg2S814Gei5m1n8 by Saturday, May 9, 2020. All floor nominations must also be received Saturday, May 9, 2020 with registration.

CURRENT 2019/2020 PTA MEMBERS:

Attendees MUST register to attend, to allow the PTA to verify their membership. Verified members will receive an email a few days prior to the meeting. This email will include instructions on how to join the meeting. Each member must register separately with their own unique email address to receive a ballot, including members who have multiple PTA members in the same household.

NON-PTA MEMBERS:

A non member can register, and be approved to attend as a guest. However, only members can vote on PTA business. A non-member who intends to run from the floor can register and be approved to attend as a guest, but will not be sent ballots for voting.

JOIN the 2019/2020 PTA:

If you are not a current 2019/2020 PTA member please contact Brooke Duke at membershipmjepta@gmail.com . She will arrange your enrollment. If you are newly joining you must complete the process 5 days prior to the meeting in order to be eligible to vote. The deadline to become a member and register is Saturday May 9th to ensure eligibility to vote at the May 14th meeting.

FLOOR NOMINATIONS:

The Executive Board has voted to only accept notice of intent to run from the floor prior to the meeting. Notice must be received at least 5 days prior to the meeting. The ONLY way to run from the floor is to fill out the meeting registration Google Form included in this email. Registration and floor nominations MUST be received no later than Saturday May 9, 2020. There will be NO exceptions, and the ballots will be set after May 9, 2020.

MEETING INFORMATION:

The meeting will open approximately 10 minutes prior to the start time. In order to be accepted, you MUST have your first and last name in the profile so we are able to accept you into the meeting. If we can not verify the name, you will not be admitted. If ballot voting is necessary, ballots for each position will be sent out separately. Please make sure you have access to your registered email to receive ballots for voting. Do NOT log out of the meeting while voting. You must be present in the meeting in order to receive a ballot. The ballots will be open for 2 minutes to allow for your vote.

IMPORTANT DATES:

May 3th- Google Form Registration OPENS for Membership Meeting/Elections

May 9th- Google Form Registration ENDS and Floor Nomination CLOSES. (NO EXCEPTIONS)

May 14th- General Membership Meeting at 6:30pm via Zoom

MEETING RULES:

· The chair gives the chance to speak to every member who wishes it. Pro and con speakers should be given alternating opportunities to speak, if possible, and all speakers should tactfully be kept to rules of order and to the question.

· Each member has two opportunities to speak to the motion. A member may exercise his or her first opportunity to speak and, then, after every other member has the chance to speak, may speak only once more.

· All statements must be addressed to the chair and not to another member.

· The chair recognizes a member who has not previously spoken to the motion in preference to one who has spoken.

· The chair does not enter into discussion. Should the President wish to debate, the chair must ask the Vice President to preside. He or she does not resume the chair until after the final disposition of the question under discussion. The President may vote when the vote would change the outcome (to make or break a tie) or when the voting is by ballot.

· Debate continues until no one wishes to speak or until someone moves to close debate.

· Members cannot close debate by shouting, “Question.” A member must seek recognition and make the motion properly and requires a 2/3 vote to pass. (“I move the previous question.”)

Spring Party
