¡Feliz noviembre a todos! Es difícil creer que en este semestre ya estamos a mitad de camino. Espero que todos nuestros jaguares se mantengan felices y saludables durante esta temporada. Quería una vez mas darles las gracias a todos por su membresía en PTA. Aunque las cosas todavía son bastantes diferentes su PTA continúa trabajando duro para enriquecer la experiencia educativa y el bienestar general de todos nuestros jaguares.

Happy Fall everyone!  We hope all our Jaguars and their families are staying happy and healthy during this season.  Our PTA is busy doing a lot of behind the scenes work preparing for our upcoming virtual events, treating our teachers with hospitality, preparing for our winter fundraiser, and much more.

One of the exciting projects we are working on is the School of Excellence Program.  This is a National PTA program where PTAs and schools partner together to look for opportunities for improvement within the school.  Currently we are in step one which is where we get feedback from our Jenks community.  I know you have probably filled out a million forms by now, but it would greatly help us if you took a few moments to fill out our School of Excellence survey.  The data collected from this anonymous survey will help us look for ways we can make our school even better than it already is.  The link for the survey is: School of Excellence survey

¡Feliz otoño a todos! Esperamos que todos nuestros Jaguares y sus familias se mantengan felices y saludables.  Durante esta temporada. Nuestro PTA está ocupado haciendo mucho trabajo detrás de escena preparándonos para nuestros próximos eventos virtuales, tratando a nuestros maestros con hospitalidad, prepararnos para nuestro invierno, recaudación de fondos y mucho más.

Uno de los proyectos que mas nos emociona de los que estamos trabajando es el Programa Escuela de Excelencia. Esto es un Programa nacional de PTA donde las PTA y las escuelas se asocian para buscar oportunidades para mejoras dentro de la escuela. Actualmente estamos en el paso uno, que es donde recibimos comentarios de nuestra comunidad Jenks. Sé que probablemente ya haya completado un millón de formularios, pero nos ayudaría mucho si se tomara unos minutos para completar nuestra encuesta, es:  School of Excellence survey. Los datos recopilados de esta encuesta anónima nos ayudarán a buscar formas en las que podemos hacer de nuestra escuela incluso mejor de lo que ya es.  El enlace para la encuesta es: School of Excellence survey.

Dear Jenks PTA Members,

It’s hard to believe we are already in the middle of September. I hope that the transition for your families back to school has gone smoothly, whether you are learning face to face or with KVA.

As we go through this school year, there is still a lot of uncertainty about what lies ahead. What we do know is that the need for support is still there, now more than ever, and the PTA is here to help. We launched our “Beyond the Walls” volunteer initiative earlier this month. This includes providing an opportunity for Jenks families to sponsor our teachers/staff, providing an opportunity for returning families to connect with new families, and providing opportunities for volunteers to help plan our virtual events. We know we can’t bring some of our favorite programs to life this year, but our hope is to introduce some new programs virtually that will continue to bring our Jenks community together.

In addition, our PTA has recently purchased a library book vending machine, an interactive science sand table, and picnic tables. We are also providing funding towards advocacy programs, an art program, campus enhancements, a music program, a literacy program, grade level funds, staff professional development, and much more. You might have also noticed that the shade for our new playground is being installed this week. The PTA was able to get support from MUD 58 to fund this shade. Your membership helps us achieve all these goals. Thank you for your continued support.

We are still working on our PTA directory, which will include class lists, birthday lists, and much more. If you haven’t already filled out our contact form, please do so. This will allow us to include you in the directory. This is a National PTA recognition program that supports and celebrates partnerships between local PTA’s and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students. Last year we were one of only 2 schools in Katy to receive this recognition. In order to participate in this program, we need to do a baseline survey. Estimados miembros de PTA de Jenks.

Es difícil creer que ya estamos a mediados de Septiembre. Espero que la transición de sus familias de regreso a la escuela se haya desarrollado sin problemas, ya sea que estén aprendiendo cara a cara o con KVA. También quería agradecerle por convertirse en miembro de PTA de JENKS.

A medida que avanzamos en este año escolar, todavía hay mucha incertidumbre sobre lo que nos espera. Lo que sí sabemos es que la necesidad de apoyo sigue ahí, ahora más que nunca, y PTA está aquí para ayudar. Lanzamos nuestra iniciativa de voluntariado “Beyond de Walls” a principios de este mes. Esto incluye brindar una oportunidad para que las familias de Jenks patrocinen a nuestros maestros y personal, así mismo brindar una oportunidad para que las familias que regresan se conecten con nuevas familias. Además brindamos oportunidades para que los voluntarios ayuden a planear nuestros eventos virtuales. Sabemos que no podemos dar vida a algunos de nuestros programas favoritos este año, pero nuestra esperanza es presentar algunos programas nuevos virtuales que continuaran uniendo a nuestra comunidad de Jenks.

Además, nuestro PTA ha comprado recientemente una máquina expendedora de libros de la biblioteca, una mesa de arena interactiva para ciencias y mesas de picnic. También estamos proporcionando fondos para programas de defensa, un programa de arte, mejoras en el campus, un programa de música, un programa de alfabetización, fondos de nivel de grado, desarrollo profesional del personal y mucho más. Es posible que también haya notado que esta semana se instalará la sombra para nuestro nuevo patio de recreo. PTA pudo obtener el apoyo de MUD 58 para financiar este proyecto. Su membresía nos ayuda a lograr todos estos objetivos. Gracias por su continuo apoyo.

Además, estamos en el proceso de renovar nuestro estado de Escuela de Excelencia, este es un programa de reconocimiento de PTA Nacional que apoya y celebra las asociaciones entre PTA’s locales y las escuelas para enriquecer la experiencia educativa y el bienestar general de todos los estudiantes. El año pasado fuimos una de las dos únicas escuelas de Katy en recibir este reconocimiento. Hello Jaguars,

Thank you for visiting our website.  We hope you will find the information helpful and informative.  If you are new to Jenks, welcome to our school.  For those of you returning, welcome back.  We love our school, and are committed to helping support our students, teachers and administration.

If you ordered school supplies, they are scheduled to arrive the 2nd week in August.  We will be working with the school and district to arrange a safe distribution of school supplies, along with any spirit wear you might have ordered.  As soon as we get more information, we will let you know.

We will have a few extra school supply packs if you were unable to order them.  Please email presidentmjepta@gmail.com if you would like to be put on the waitlist.
